Can it be the last day of July already? Here's what's been happening since my last post...
I now work part-time. It's been awesome - spending more time with Chloe; not having to commute 5 days a week; not having to jam all the chores into the weekend. I've learned a lot being a part-time stay-at-home mom. For example, the best time to go grocery shopping is anytime on a weekday - there are no lines and at the most 10 customers in the store.
I'm cooking more. Not only am I making Chloe's baby food (which is so easy and makes me feel like supermom), but I'm finally trying out recipes in several cookbooks that had been collecting dust on my bookshelp, plus some from epicurious.com and from food blogs like Chocolate and Zucchini and 101cookbooks . Who knows, perhaps, I'll start updating the "What's Cookin'" page of this site.
I'm no longer allergic to exercise. Earlier this year, I use to breakout in hives right after going to the gym or running outside. The hives are no longer as of the end of May around the time I stopped providing Chloe leche de boobie. Thanks goodness the hives are gone. Now I can truly train for the marathon at the 2008 Summer Olympics - Beijing, here I come! Hmm, hives are gone, but I still have illusions of grandeur.
Chloe now says "Mom" and "Ah-da". And I think she now knows that "Mom" means me. She use to say "mamamamamamama" For you non-illokano speaking folks, "Ah-da" (not sure of the correct spelling) means "There is". Contact me if you'd like to learn dirty ilocano words...just kidding Mom!
House hunting Gradually, our two-bedroom condo is getting smaller with all the baby stuff. They say it's a buyer's market. Dan and I just need to find something to buy. There's so much to consider - school district, distance to metro stop, neighbors, etc.
Spent a week at the beach near Charleston, South Carolina with Dan's family. Dan, Chloe and I had a great time catching up with his parents, his siblings and their kids. It was Chloe's first stay at a beach. She was scared of the ocean water, but enjoyed the pool at the house. I went boogie-boarding for a short period twice. The second time, this wave totally wiped me out.
Whew, that's all for now. There's more, but I really wanted to get a post up before the month ended and some things merit their own post like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or how my right tonsil took over my throat last April...I'll try to post more and more photos coming soon!
